The Church-Minister Relations office is honored to serve our churches by providing to inquiring congregations biographical information on prospective ministers. Our files contain the names of ministers open to God's leadership to make staff and career changes. This, of course, is a dynamic process, which involves the spiritual disciplines of listening to God, prayer, and being continually sensitive to His guidance. Involvement in this process is by invitation, and is but a small part of how God works to position His people for ministry. We accept this role fully aware of God's promises and provision to those seeking His will for ministry and life. Scripture affirms that God is always working! This means that movement is constant within the Baptist family. Hundreds of requests come into our office from churches seeking biographical data on individuals willing to accept new ministry challenges. God uses us as an information referral ministry. This ministry is not an endorsement or recommendation of candidates or churches. We attempt to link congregations and potential candidates by matching certain basic criteria regarding education, experience, and other pertinent ministry data. Our personal and professional knowledge of the candidates is often limited. Each church should exercise its own due diligence in examining the credentials, qualifications, and character of the prospective minister. We do not guaranty the accuracy or completeness of the biographical information. References should be secured in every instance, and be verified along with other background information. The fact that we have served our referral mission does not represent an endorsement of a particular individual or reference about competency to minister. Names and situations are shared in good faith with the prayer that God will use these efforts to introduce our churches to people eager to serve. Selecting a church minister, whether a pastor or staff member, is a Kingdom task! That is why we must covenant in prayer to seek His guidance in these matters. Whether you are seeking to fill a staff vacancy or are willing to place your ministry in God's hand, join us in praying that God will use this office to serve our churches in Kingdom growth.
